Who we are
chair is a UK studio building websites, booking and loyalty software for independent beauty salons. For the personal data described below, chair is the data controller. Contact: use the form on the homepage and we'll reply from the studio inbox.
What we collect, and why
Enquiries: when you use the contact form we keep your name, email, salon name and message so we can reply and follow up. Lawful basis: legitimate interest (you asked us something).
Purchases: when you buy through Stripe we receive your name, email, what you bought and the amount — never your card number, which only Stripe holds. Lawful basis: contract.
Client onboarding briefs: if we're building for you, your intake answers (services, staff names, opening hours, brand preferences) are stored to deliver the work. Lawful basis: contract.
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies are functional ones required for checkout and, for our own staff, signing in.
Your salon's clients (when you use our apps)
When a salon runs its booking or loyalty app with us, the salon is the controller of its clients' data and chair processes it on the salon's instructions under our service terms. Client records are exportable to CSV by the salon at any time and are deleted or returned when a salon leaves.
Where it lives, who touches it
Data is stored with Supabase (Postgres, EU/UK regions) and processed by Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments) and our email provider (transactional email only). We don't sell, share or rent personal data to anyone, ever — 'the clients are yours' applies to your data with us, too.
How long, and your rights
Enquiries that go nowhere are deleted within 12 months. Purchase records are kept as long as accounting law requires. You can ask for a copy of your data, correction, or deletion at any time — email us and it's done within 30 days. If we get something wrong you can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
